“Body on the Inside" is about a lack of real intimate connection. My sister sent me an article on how newer generations are having less sex because they fear how rough it will be with the influence of porn. Porn is telling us at impressionable ages, how sex should be, the roles we should play and what we should be turned on by. A constant stimulus that loses the real intimacy we crave. Men are conditioned to put their pleasure in superiority to women’s and that has been true for years. You can be the loyalist advocate for women but societal influence runs deep into the subconscious.

This song is me reflecting on my own past relationships where I have set boundaries in sex that have been ignored for the other person’s pleasure. There are lines and levels to consent of course but even with the purest intentions consent can be blurred. ‘Body on the Inside’ is me taking back control of my body. I refuse to let society tell me how others see and touch it. I feel I’m more emotionally concise with my songwriting, and I hope the song empowers people to say no to things they don’t want to do and encourages them to take back their bodies.”
